Le colloque
Les Archives de la Ville de Bruxelles et les Archives de l’État en collaboration avec le Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche sur l’Histoire de Bruxelles (CIRHIBRU) organisent un colloque sur l’Expo 58. L’exposition et son message, la participation étrangère, les transformations urbaines sont quelques-uns des aspects qui seront abordés au cours de cette journée d’étude. Les différentes interventions seront suivies d’une table ronde.

De wereldtentoonstelling van Brussel. Wat een gebeurtenis!
Wat blijft er over van deze ontmoetingsplaats van mensen, dromen en technische hoogstandjes? De 50ste verjaardag is dé gelegenheid om terug te blikken op Expo 58 in al haar facetten: de voorbereidingen en opbouw, de geopolitieke context, de betekenis en het spektakel.
Het colloquium
Het Archief van de Stad Brussel en het Rijksarchief organiseren in samenwerking met het Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche sur l’Histoire de Bruxelles (CIRHIBRU) een colloquium over Expo 58. De tentoonstelling en haar missie en implicaties, de buitenlandse deelnames, de stedenbouwkundige ingrepen in Brussel… Het zijn maar enkele van de aspecten die tijdens deze studiedag op de agenda staan. Na de lezingen volgt een rondetafelgesprek.

The colloquium
The Brussels City Archives and the State Archives, in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research into the History of Brussels (CIRHIBRU), will hold a colloquium on Expo 58. The exhibition and its message, foreign participants and urban transformations are some of the topics that will be dealt with on this study day. After each speech, a round table will take place.
